  The World Series happened Oct. 17, 1989. That was 32 years ago. It was a game between the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics . It was a 1989 Broadcast Quake on ABC . (Clip) It is said the screen flickered, the ground started to shake & the screen went black. There was a Giant legend named Willie Mays at the Giants clubhouse. He played for the San Francisco Giants . Mays is a retired legend and retired in 1973. He was a former professional baseball center fielder.
