The Broadcast Quake and Willie Mays


 

The World Series happened Oct. 17, 1989. That was 32 years ago. It was a game between the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics. It was a 1989 Broadcast Quake on ABC. (Clip) It is said the screen flickered, the ground started to shake & the screen went black.


There was a Giant legend named Willie Mays at the Giants clubhouse. He played for the San Francisco Giants. Mays is a retired legend and retired in 1973. He was a former professional baseball center fielder. During the time of the earthquake series, he was at the age of 58, and this is what he had to say about the earthquake ..
